Omental caking describes thick abnormal tissue spread within the fatty apron of the abdomen, often from cancer or severe inflammation.

Imaging helps show how extensive the abnormal tissue spread is and whether there are associated masses, fluid, bowel involvement, or signs suggesting cancer or severe inflammation.
